I agree quality in the graduates is very important so the reputation of the education providers is not tarnished.

I am interested in finding out how your situation might relate to the list of points from the Unesco article about the pros and cons of distance learning.

I am also interested in finding out what the purpose of the survey will be. what are the overarching Qs you want to answer?

For example,
1. Student satisfaction with the quality of the content you will offer and/or the learning experience?
2. To find out how usable students find the online materials and technologies?
3. How effective the technologies and online materials are for learning? etc.

evaluating for quality - content, learning experience etc - is the same as planning for flexible learning - you need a bit of a plan. What are you actually trying to find out? otherwise you will not get the answers you need.

the survey could act as part of a range of methods in a formative evaluation - finding out how things are working for the learners as the course runs OR
summative - finding out how effective the course was at the end. I suggest you run the formative as you run the course if it is a new initiative - that way you can make changes as you go.

Happy to help advise on this aspect if you would like some assistance.
see: http://www.myplick.com/view/6ZiwsC5aQI7/Why-is-evaluation-so-importantBronwyn hegartyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12032750297040394983noreply@blogger.com
